For generations of St Paul’s students, Tihoi Venture School has been a place of challenge, adventure and personal growth. Nestled on the western shores of Lake Taupō alongside the Pureora Forest, Tihoi has helped thousands of young people build resilience, independence and lifelong friendships through its unique outdoor education programme.
Our latest flythrough video offers a fresh look at the Tihoi campus as it stands today, bringing back memories for Collegians who spent time there and giving future students and families a glimpse into one of the most distinctive parts of the St Paul’s experience.
From tramping, kayaking and climbing to shared living, leadership opportunities and outdoor challenges, Tihoi continues to provide experiences that push students beyond their comfort zones and help shape the people they become.
The future of Tihoi is equally exciting. From 2027, the programme will evolve to include three 12-week intakes each year, with two intakes for boys and, for the first time, a dedicated intake for girls. While the structure will change, the core experiences that have defined Tihoi for decades, including activity rotations, parent and house tramps, solo experiences and expeditions, will remain at the heart of the programme.
Whether you are revisiting fond memories or discovering Tihoi for the first time, take a moment to enjoy the flythrough and see why Tihoi remains such a special part of the St Paul’s journey.
