Patrick (Pat) Hanly, born in Palmerston North, trained at Canterbury College School of Fine Arts and the Royal College of Art in London, where European modernism shaped his style. He was a celebrated New Zealand artist renowned for his vibrant, expressive paintings that explored light, life, and the human experience.
This artwork was gifted to St Paul's by Collegian Robert Cox (Sargood|School 1959 - 1962).
