"You had a huge impact on my life - thank you." These words from Salesi Tauaika (School 2020–2024) were written to his sponsor, capturing the gratitude he feels as he reflects on his time at St Paul’s.
Salesi has proved what it means to be both a scholar and an athlete. A standout leader of the First XV rugby team and a Waikato U18 representative, he has also achieved academic excellence across Agribusiness, Calculus, History, and English. His curiosity and drive led him to investigate future-proofing the Manuka honey industry — a glimpse into the thoughtful ambition he brings to shaping his future.
In 2025, Salesi will begin a new chapter at the University of Otago, where he has been awarded a scholarship to study Psychology and Criminology. His goal: to serve his community through a career in the police force.
Watch this video as Salesi and his parents share their journey, the power of the Futures Fund, and their hopes for what lies ahead. It’s a testament to what’s possible when someone believes in your potential.
