Rapid progress is being made on the $15 million build, with foundations and floors being poured in early March. Teams of tradespeople are on site each day, and progress is clearly visible to students, parents, and visitors.
The Hive facility, sited in the heart of the school on the site of the original health clinic and Great Oaks Farmhouse, will be a student health and wellness centre, a one-stop shop for parents, and will connect to a newly upgraded Sargood House.
Collegians Committee donates to the Hive
The school’s Collegians Committee has announced it will donate $50,000 to the Hive project.
The kind donation will be put towards buying furniture and display cabinets for historical items for a Parents’ and Collegians’ lounge within the Hive. Collegians’ Committee President Ryan McCarthy (Sargood 1993-1997) says the committee is keen to support the Hive as it is integral to providing a premier environment for current students who will ultimately become Collegians.
“We’re very proud to be continuing our strong association with the school – it is undertaking a huge investment that will be seen as a legacy project, benefiting generations of Collegians to come. We are delighted to contribute to the cost.”
Other people wanting to support the Hive can make donations directly here. All gifts $500 and up will receive name recognition in the new facility.
