Peggy de Winton

98 years young, turning the music sheet to start a new song.

It is with both sadness and celebration that we remember Peggy de Winton, a truly remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit. Peggy was the beloved soul mate of the late Tom (Staff 1971–1977) and a devoted mother to Peter, the late Tony, and Mary. Her love extended to her grandchildren—Kalin, Olivia, Alice, and Toby—and she took great joy in watching her legacy continue with her great-grandchild, Anthony.

As housemaster, Tom led Clark House from 1971 to 1977. With Peggy by his side, they created a welcoming, supportive environment where students felt valued and encouraged. Peggy’s gentle guidance, alongside Tom’s leadership, made Clark House a cherished home for many.

Beyond her contributions to St Paul’s, Peggy’s life was woven with music, kindness, and community service. She spent over a decade sharing her talents with the children’s choir at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where her accompaniment was cherished by young voices and families alike. Whether supporting the rowing boys at St Paul’s or sharing her musical gifts, Peggy brought joy, humility, and grace to everything she did.

She will be remembered as a kind, humble woman whose legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
